N

Naga 1. A person who is serpent like from the waist or neck down. Some nagas are portrayed with several heads, much like a hydra. Taken from Hindu/Far East mythology. Some Nagas were able to change completely into human form. 2. In Malaysia, it refers to a five-headed serpentine dragon, sometimes represented with five human faces.
Nanotechnology A technology that works on almost the molecular level, building machines that are smaller than cells. It holds great promise in practical terms, since thousands of nanomachines could be released in the body to ensure perfect health for example. However, they could also be used to reshape a person's body, altering their looks, physical shape, or transforming them into something else.
Narcissus Mentioned in Ovid's Metamorphosis, this youth fell so deeply in love with his reflection in a pool of water that he was unable to tear himself away. As a result, he was transformed into the flower that bears his name.
Neck A Scandinavian term for Mermaid, although this type can appear in salt or fresh water.
Neko / Nekko Japanese for "Cat" - Japanese Cat Girl pages are very popular.
Nekomimi Japanese for Cat Girl.
Ningyo A Japaense term for Mermaid. However, these creatures only had the head of a woman and the body of a fish.
Night A time of darkness after sunset, sometimes used as a trigger for transformations. Because the darkness hides so much there are numerous references to creatures that prowl the night.
Nix, Nixie A Germanic term for Mermaid used in Scandanavia, and German-speaking regions of Europe. The major difference between Mermaids and Nix is that the Nix dwell in fresh water, not salt water. The name is also used in Slavic mythology to describe alternatively, a female Siren-like creature (see Siren) or a male foxtaur like creature (See Taur).
Numerology A branch of magic that attributes special meanings or powers to certain numbers. Seven is usually regarded as a lucky number, while 13 is considered unlucky.
Nymph 1. A minor group of goddesses associated with trees, bodies of water and other natural features. They were often able to transform themselves from their natural form of water, wood or whatever into a human form. 2. The aquatic form of an insect before it matures into it's adult flying form.
Nympho / Nymphomania A woman with an unquenchable sexual appetite.
